A. Experience as a Stage Playwright:

- Wrote the following plays; A Farforian Story, (1966) published (2008). The School of Husbands, 1972, (an Egyptian adaptation of Moliere’s play). Messages that were Never Written, 1973. He who Conquered my Heart with his Kindness, 1976. Egyptian Tales, 2002 Lonely Traveler, 1998. The Last Whisper, 2000. (The last two listed plays were also directed by himself and presented on the National Theatre of Egypt).

B. Experience as a Director :

- Directed numerous plays for state theatres, private sector theatre troops, university theatres as well as experimental theatre. The following are among the western plays;

- Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (Williams)
- Imaginary Invalid, and The Misanthrope (Moliere)

- A Boat Without a Fisherman and The House with Seven Balconies (Casona)
- A Love Story ( Hekmat)

- Blood on the Kaaba’s Curtains ( Guwaida)

- My Fate and Destiny ( Naguib Mahfouz)
N.B. Currently working on a new Egyptian version of the myth Faust, to be called The Gypsy’s Ambassador.


Other Achievements:
- Winner the State’s Honorary Prize for Artistic Achievement, 2009.
- Received the State Prize in Dramatic Criticism, 1996, for his book New Reading in Old Plays.

- Married with two daughters:  the older daughter has a degree in Marketing and works as a business developer for the television channel “ O T.V”, while the younger one, also with a degree in Business Administration, works as a teacher at the International School of Choueifat.
